Flemington Carnival Winner Sold To Hong Kong
Melbourne spring carnival stakes winner One For One has been sold to Hong Kong. His Adelaide and Darwin-based connections have accepted a six-figure offer for the promising three-year-old.
The deal was negotiated by Sydney-based bloodstock agent Dave Mee’s Pinhook Bloodstock. One For One Horseform is a lightly-raced son of Duke Marmalade and was never unplaced in his six starts for Adelaide trainer Phillip Stokes.
One For One recorded his first black type win at his last appearance in the Listed Poisedon Stakes (1400m) at Flemington for the third win of his career.
One For One was scheduled to race on the final day of Melbourne Cup week at Flemington on Saturday but the terms of the sale cancelled out thos plans.
He will be shipped to Hong Kong in December without having another race in Australia. Mee first attempted to buy One For One for Hong Kong clients after the gelding’s first win at Morphettville in August but was knocked back.
One For One owners included Darwin Turf Club chairman Brett Dixon.
“I sold Brett Dixon a good number of horses when I was first starting out as an agent including the 2010 Darwin Cup winner Shout Out Loud,” Mee said."
“When my Hong Kong clients wanted a high quality sprinter/miler I followed One For One’s progress closely." “After the horse’s stakes win in Melbourne he ticked all the boxes and a deal was successfully negotiated.”
Mee has built up a strong client base in Asia since he established Pinhook Bloodstock in 2005.
Notable horses he has sold to Hong Kong include the stakes winners Go Baby Go and Express Win, as well as G1 winners Elderly Paradise and Master Of Puppets to Macau.
