The Arc Sale in Paris on Sept 30 is the start of the European Horses in Training (HIT) and Mare sales season.

Having been located in France for just over 12 months and on my second European HIT sales cycle I am definitely fitter for the run and very much up to sourcing some more really nice horses for Australia and NZ this year.

Experience is a wonderful teacher and I’m more in tune with the French / Euro horses and form lines as they relate to suitability for Aus/NZ and I’m definitely more wiser with the who/what/where and how of the identification, purchase and processes to secure the right type of horses for down under.

Over the last 12 months I have purchased a number of horses for Australian clients but also, more often than not with the assistance of professional form analyst Shannon Evans, we have identified a good number of horses, that we were unable to purchase (for the usual reasons - vetting; over budget, etc.).

If you refer to the attached spreadsheet, all of the horses listed I either short-listed from auction and/or presented privately back to Aus.
It’s obviously both pleasing (and frustrating) to see a good number of these go on and perform extraordinarily well.

We have prepared a short list already for
The Arc Sale (Sept 30) so please advise if you require an advanced short list and/or wish to discuss what you may be looking for this HIT season. All horses short-listed identified with Australian conditions / race programming in mind.

Obviously, with me being here in France there is some opportunism within all this, but I think we all know the French / European horses simply work in Australia, especially over 1600-2400m.
